Safety Engineer

Position Core Role:
Lead proactive safety themes and initiatives to support the Assembly Department Business Plan
Work with all levels of the department and organization to achieve goals and targets to create an injury free manufacturing environment
Essential Function and Responsibilities:
Work with Department Ergonomist to conduct ergonomic process analysis and use the analysis results in implementing and measuring improvement
Lead the development and implementation of countermeasures to a variety of safety and ergonomics-related concerns of moderate scope and complexity
Develop and implement ideas for process improvement, using advanced techniques as needed
Support incident investigation, and countermeasure development, as needed
Work with associates in other groups within the Assembly Department to address safety and ergonomic problems
Lead department safety audits, gather data and feedback results, track to ensure completion
Overall safety contact for department - lead initiatives such as Department Safety Committees and Ergo Coaches
Subject Matter Expert for the Process Safety Management Program (PSM)
Daily Tasks:
Implement countermeasures
Safety and ergonomic analysis of processes or equipment
Interact with associates from other departments or other groups within the Assembly Frame department
Working with Safety Team Coordinators to give direction on process placements for associates with work restriction, as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of safety and ergonomics. (College coursework, application of safety/ergonomics in job, etc.)
Understanding of a manufacturing environment.
Ability to use computer office software. (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
Ability to use program software applications.
Ability to manage projects to completion.
Ability to identify and focus on priorities that have the greatest impact.
Can adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
Ability to effectively communicate with production associates, staff, and managers.
Required Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant safety experience in a manufacturing environment
Education Requirements :
Bachelor's of Science in Safety, Ergonomics, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
5-10 years of work experience may be substituted for a degree
Honda Factors:
Shift Rotation when needed

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
