Senior Quality Engineer

Position Summary
Work as liason between internal departments at GECOM. Implement customer requirements and procedures on our assembly, inspection, labeling and shipping process to meet expectations.
Essential Functions
1. Maintain quality documents for mass production. 2. Respond to quality issues/concerns from GECOM assembly areas and customers. 3. Back-up to management level position. Responsible for ensuring customer requirements are met. 4. Support cutomer service area and visit customer plants to review quality concerns. Recommend short term and long term countermeasures. Present Quality data to senior management. Supervise QE department, if required. Responsible for conformity to product requirements with the authority to stop production and shipments in order to correct quality problems. 5. Define GECOM QE activities/procedures and ensure they meet ISO/TS and customer requirements. Measure QE department performance and participate in short/long term planning for QE department. 6. Travel, both domestic and international, up to 25% of the time. 7. Monitor design change process. 8. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers 9. Complete additional tasks and assignments given by Supervisor/Manager. 10. Consistent and regular attendance.
Competencies Bachelor degree in Engineering and 5+ years mfg. quality experience Excellent problem solving and communication skills (written and verbal) Ability to easily navigate computer programs Experience in a fast paced office/manufacturing environment SPC, PPAP, and 5P training ASQ CQT, CQA, or CQE certification preferred

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
