New Model Robot Simulation and Programming Engineer
Position Core Role:
Manage the creation off-line robotic programming and implementation of those programs to production equipment.
Essential Function and Responsibilities:
Process quality-Analysis of spot weld distributions for weld comp stability, equipment cycle time and overall robot efficiency.
System validation-Track cycle time (Plan vs. Actual) as related to each off line program. Work with Zone PLs to ensure equipment achieves specified cycle times.
Process simulation-Support engineering and NM with new equipment layouts and reach checks for new equipment modifications to existing equipment.
New Model Team Support-Participate in the on-line teaching activity as needed to ensure a smooth new model start-up.
System Management-Continuously monitor OLT technology and make recommendations to keep.
Training-Train and support associates to constantly increase OLT capability.
Schedule-Develop OLT schedule to align and Zone PL requirements.
Daily Tasks:
Create robot programming in a 3D virtual space using Catia software.
Monitor schedule to ensure timely completion of all OLT activity to maintain new model project schedules.
Create and update robot programming instructions (teach sheets) to ensure the accuracy between plan and actual condition.
Feedback drawing issues found to the appropriate associate or company.
Collaborate with Honda Engineering and the other Honda plants.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Working knowledge or 3D virtual space using Catia software.
Basic knowledge of robot programming.
Daily reporting and tracking of activities.
Immediate response to production floor needs/requirements.
Compliance with all safety policies and regulations.
Able to communicate clearly in verbal and written formats.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Flexible to change work hours as needed.
Strong self-direction and drive.
Working knowledge of CATIA/DELMIA operations.
Experience with Yaskawa robotics (or equivalent related experience).
Working knowledge of most zone processes including:
Welding, White Body, CBU, and Stamping
Required Experience:
Minimum of two years of Working knowledge of 3D computer aided design software.
Minimum of one year of experience programming robots.
Strong Mix of hands on and technical skills from a New Model background.
Education Requirements:
A Mechanical or Robotics Degree is preferred; however, is not a requirement.
Honda Factors:
Work Environment: Production floor/equipment/open office.
Estimated amount of overtime: 150-300 hours/year.
Travel as Department needs-1-2 weeks 3x per year.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
